Five Great Books Coming this Fall

September 10, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Here are five books that you should buy and read this fall.

40 Questions About Christians and Biblical Law, by Tom Schreiner.  Looking at the table of contents this book should be very helpful for the church.

Generous Justice: How God’s Grace Makes Us Just, by Tim Keller.  Looks like another book that will challenge believers to think deeply about the implications of the gospel.

Ephesians, by Frank Thielman.  Thielman is a first-rate scholar and the Baker Series has been fantastic, so it should be a great commentary.

The First Letter to the Corinthians, by Roy Ciampa and Brian Rosner.  Ciampa and Rosner’s commentary should  provide a helpful expansion of their shorter work from this commentary.

God’s Glory in Salvation Through Judgment: A Biblical Theology, by Jim Hamilton.  Hamilton’s book is the one I am most looking forward to this fall.  I have benefited greatly from his writings.  Visit his blog here.

Garland referred to Rosner a good bit in his commentary on 1 Cor (BECNT). From what I remember, Rosner’s comments were always helpful.
