Chad, I didn’t realize that MacArthur was lambasting the Amillenial position with such vehement hostility. Many of his comments are apparently spoken with fierce anger and rebuke as if the Amill position is heretical and a danger to the name of Christ. While I don’t hold to John Mac’s views on many issues, I would certainly never categorize him in the same vain that he has labeled me, his fellow brother in Christ.

The real danger of John Mac’s view is that it fails to show how the Amil position misreads Scripture, and ultimately God’s redemptive plan of salvation culminating in Jesus. While he appears to be incessant about commenting on many periphery issues, it is his presuppositions at the end of the day that determine how he views the entire situation. That is where the battle should be, not on the smoke coming from the fire.

It is disappointing to hear the things he and others say. The important thing is that we maintain our views with consistency and seek to teach such things in love and kindness.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I am glad in a way that Dr. Waldron waited for a while before responding to Dr. Macarthur. A lot of initial responses (including mine!) were knee jerk and by letting some time pass, he is able to get past some of the heat and get to the light (or something like that!)

Yes, I agree. However, after reading for myself MacArthur’s words his arguments are still very inaccurate and spiteful.
